Holiday

My good friend Melody just got a job, after being out of work just about as long as me.

Our offices are now fairly close to each other, and yesterday we were making lunch plans for next week. We decided to meet on Monday.

Today, we realized that Monday is a holiday. This tells you how long we've been out of work.

I'm looking forward to this 3-day weekend, as I really don't have any big plans. I mean, I have things I want to do, but I don't have anything I need to do. I'd like to plant some mums, but I don't have to. I'd like to clean out my closet, but it's not necessary.

I feel like I've been packing my days to the limit, trying to check off everything on my list in the short time I'm alloted. But is it really an accomplishment if I'm exhausted and cranky?

So this weekend will be time for me to recharge and regroup, and do what I want to do, instead of telling myself I have to.

What are your plans?

I plan to do a little regrouping myself. I just finished my second week of homeschooling and there are a few things I need to organize and review. My husband is taking the three older kids to the lake for the weekend and I will be left with the two who go to bed the earliest. I am already looking forward to opening a bottle of wine after I tuck them in.

Three weeks late, but congrats on the new job. It's been a long time since I have been able to catch up with you. Enjoy the long weekend!!

I'm so glad you've got a job you're happy with. And a 3 day weekend just after you start? Life just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?

(School holidays here in 2 weeks time. Can't wait....)

Hey Kim,
Well, our weekend consists of heading off to the cabin for some R&R although with a big breakfast for all the cabinites that I am helped with rest can be elusive. A little reading, sharing a few glasses of wine with friends and watching the birds, now that is R&R. Carla
