I live in NJ, Kim, and only heard about this horror through your blog. I don't know each and every terrible detail, but today is the first time I remember reading that (a) he was involved in two other crashes, one of which resulted in a settlement against the State, and (b) that he had willfully turned off his in-car video camera.
This man deserves to be put away. His carelessness and ignorance resulted in the horror you live with day after day, PLUS, after being in 2 other crashes, one of which resulted in a judgment AGAINST the state to the tune of $1.7 million??? I hope he loses his job, WITHOUT his pay/pension/benefits, and I hope they find in favor of a huge settlement - not because $$ can bring an ounce of compensation for your loss, but because you can use that money to further awareness of these abuses and you can use the money in your work with the Foundation you set up in honor of your girls.
I'm SO happy for this decision, and I WILL be praying in April....
So so glad to hear this! Hopefully now you and your family can concentrate on the trail as oppose to the stall tatics of the defense. Many hugs and prayers to you and yours!!
I was so happy to read this! I have been following for some time, but I'm a lurker. This post was such good news I had to come out of lurkerdom and say "Right On Judge!!!"
This is great news! I've been checking your St Louis newspapers all week, waiting for the decision. Good thoughts to you and your family as you prepare for the trial.
I just saw the "Breaking News" that the trooper reached a deal. I didn't know how to contact you otherwise. I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you. Take care.
