In Other News...

Last Wednesday, Maddy and I had our pictures taken by Jonathan Pollack. We went to Stiles Park in Edwardsville. It was a gorgeous day, and I'm very happy with how they turned out. Jonathan is a great guy, and his lovely wife/assistant Stephanie brought cupcakes (which were divine, BTW!).

You can see our photo shoot here, enter KimAndMaddy in the Private Gallery box at the bottom of the page. I highly recommend him for any photography needs you may have. He's very laid-back, and we didn't feel stiff or posed during our shoot. I'm not a fan of having my picture taken anyway, and it just makes me feel even more self-conscious when the photographer is saying "chin up, head down, tilt to the left, smile!" Oy. Just take the damn picture already!

He even took a shot of us from the back and my butt didn't look quite as big as I feared. He either Photoshopped it or my diet is working. Either way - Bonus!

Speaking of diets, the anti-depressant I'm on is working wonders on my mood and I'm not eating everything in sight. I've lost about 6 pounds since I started it a couple of weeks ago, and that's without going to the gym. Again, BONUS!

Speaking of diets again, my good friend has asked me to be a bridesmaid in her upcoming February wedding, and Maddy will be a junior bridesmaid. We're very flattered and thrilled to be involved.

I can't believe May is almost over.

Kim, it was wonderful meeting you, and I'm so glad you like the photos - and also just so you and your readers know, I never use Photoshop to alter images! :)

I found your blog by accident, Kim, and was moved beyond words. Know that my heart bleeds for you even though we don't know each other.
But then I saw your pictures - they are GORGEOUS! You have a beautiful daughter. My favorites are the ones where you're both laughing, not just smiling. So much love...

Hi Kim--I love your pictures. You and Maddy look beautiful together. I think my FAVORITE is the second to the last, the black and white of you two hugging. Its something about the expression on her face that I love.

I love professional shots that do not look like you were poked and prodded into a pose...these were very nice. I especially love the black and white ones but the one where you two are hugging each other...wow. explains it all...

Okay, I just went back to look at #92 (didn't get through the entire set the first time) and I have tears in my eyes.

That is one helluva shot. So sweet.

Hey there, I love this blog and have been reading through it, marveling at your strength. But I have to take a moment to remark on something that scared me - the anti-depressant. Lexapro is very, very strong, and I'd imagine your doc hasn't filled you in on the dangers as much as he should have. I know mine didn't, and it almost killed me. They weren't tested for use over 3 months. And in the long run, they CAUSE weight gain, depression, and insomnia (along with a lot of other nasty problems, again that I'm sure you haven't been warned of. Without doing the research, most doctors don't know - my case was what got my own doc researching, and he won't prescribe except in severe cases now).

You've been through so much that I had to make myself heard, to try and stop what happened to me from happening to you. Just to satisfy your curiosity, please check out paxilprogress (dot) org. Just so you know everything.
