I Want To Be A Loser

As I mentioned last week, I'm going to make some changes around here. *points at self*

When I was working out last year, I felt good. I wasn't trying to become a supermodel - I was just trying to get healthy. I need that feeling again.

So, this morning I packed my workout gear and joined the gym in my building. I have to say I'm LOVING it. The woman who runs it, Cindy, is just so darn perky! She didn't faint when she weighed and measured me, and I appreciate that. Although I almost did. Yowza. Those are some harsh numbers.

Her gym is having a Biggest Loser competition. It starts today, and runs for 6 weeks. You pay $5 to join. Weigh-in is Monday morning. If you don't gain weight, you don't pay. If you gain, you pay $.10 per ounce up to $2 max. At the end of six weeks, whoever loses the most wins half the money, then the other half is split between 2nd and 3rd place. I don't think I'll win but the motivation of not paying is good. I like that the weigh-in is on Monday, because I tend to indulge on the weekends.

Cindy also suggested that I email her daily what I'm eating and she'd give me tips on how to do better. I'm hoping that will make me a little more cognizant of what I'm eating and try to substitute grapes for Doritos.

Oh, and the upside is I get to go shopping. Remember the bras? Yeah, sports bras might be a good idea when running on the treadmill. I don't want to put out my eye.

PS to my STL readers - Enjoy the weather today. I think we might actually have Spring now. Here's hoping!

Good Luck Kim!

We have done something similar here in Nevada, although we don't have a gym in our building we have been doing a weight loss challenge. It's 5 bucks every two weeks with the biggest percentage of weight-loss winning the lions share. My hubby won a year ago and the payout was 750 bucks. I am in 4th this time around and the payout is 1100 this go around, so I need to get my butt in gear and take this thing by July!! Good luck to you and I hope you at least start feeling good!

Good luck! I always need the little bit of accountability, either the nagging friend or $$ usually does the trick! :)

You go girl. Accountability always helps. Me, I'm unaccountable.

Amen to the St. Louis Spring weather today.

OK..the gym sounds awesome..what a great motivator..we were going to do something at the office and it fell through. I REALLY need to do something...it's just by the time I get home from work I don't FEEL like exercising...like last night for instance..I SO should have walked..

That is awesome Kim! We have a walking competition at my work for the next 5 weeks that I organized a team for. I think little things like competitions are awesome motivation! Even just wearing the pedometer motivated me to take the steps to the 5th floor :) Good luck. lady!

So, we've talked about switching out your desk chair for a giant exercise ball..... and I just had a CLOSE call.

You see, I'm wearing blue jeans and it's 10pm...I've eaten a lot today and apparently not exercised lately (wait, just realized I'm wearing a size smaller jeans as of today! yeah me!)....

Anyway, I leaned back to unbutton my pants and almost fell off the ball.

Stay motivated, but be careful.
