The Favor of a Reply is Requested

I love getting comments on my blog. Love. Them. Maybe it's my deep-seated need for approval, maybe it's proof that I'm cool, or maybe it's just nice to have a fan or two. It makes me happy to open my email and see that someone has left me a note. It's all so very Sally-Field-You-Really-Like-Me!

When I read other blogs, and leave comments, sometimes those bloggers respond to my comment. How cool is that? Return comment luv on my comment-luv!

I have noticed though, that when I try to respond to the emailed comment, it's not a valid email address (noreply@blogger.com). Some of my frequent commenters have given me their email addressess, so I can contact them that way. If a commentor has a blog, I can click the link, and if there is a contact email on there, I try to respond that way. But sometimes they don't have their contact info listed. And that makes me sad, because I want to return the luv.

Anyway, my point is, I read every comment. I also have saved all my comments in a folder in my email. Yes, every single solitary comment that has ever been left on my blog has been put in my virtual scrapbook.

So, if I have never responded to your comment or visited your blog, please don't think I'm ignoring you. It's not for lack of trying. (Note- I use Blogger so if there's some setting that I've turned off that will enable me to do respond, please enlighten me).

I have never commented before on your blog and I don't blog myself. I found your blog through one of my friend's blogs I read. I love reading your blog and your day to day courage. I remember hearing about your girls and admire how you get through this day to day. I love the fish story that you posted not so long ago. Just wanted you to know one mom to another, you are an inspiration.
BTW my name is Kelly.
my email is kellyaubuchon@aol.com

Well, as you know, I love reading your blog! I've been a very poor commentor lately though. For that, I apologize. I've been a poor poster too... been caught up in real time.
I've wondered about returning comments too. I know a lot of sites have a more direct line to their visitors, but I'm on blogger too so for now I rely on the comments page. It doesn't allow for as much of an exchange does it? A work in progress I guess.

Just sending some more comment-luv your way!!
I have had the same issues with two college pals and a high school friend who I can't contact 'cause their return email addresses are noreply-comment@blogger.com. And they don't have blogs (that I can find) so I can't even blog-stalk them!

I have commented once or twice. I probably found your blog through one of the local news stations. You are a great writer and a complete inspiration. My email address is cheriwright2@yahoo.com . I'd love to hear how to get to that bar in Camdenton with the awesome pork sandwich. Couldn't remember the name when we were at the Lake last weekend and my husband really wants to go there. =)

Thanks for sharing your story with us!!!

I have also never commented on your blog, but I love reading it! I am from the metro east and I am a student at SIUE. Your blog often makes me laugh and sometimes cry, you are an inspiration. I also enjoy your wedding blog! I am not a blogger myself, but I do enjoy reading yours! Thanks for sharing your stories! God Bless!

Comments make me happy, too. I always appreciate them and I've met some really great people because of blogging.

It also makes me happy that you and I forged an actual friendship, talk via email and once-in-a-while we manage to see each other face to face.

You're a great person and I feel privileged to have met you.

Love, love and love you!

OMG! I thought I was the only one who saved every single comment left on my blogs in my email folders! Ha!

I read your blog, but since I am usually at work (No internet at home, long story) I don't always have time to comment (without getting busted). So, you have a fan out here, I just happen to be the quiet variety

I wish I had more time to leave comments on my favorite blogs. I read them all, but rarely have time to comment. I've noticed comments have decreased on my blog while the hits have not, so maybe it's not just me who has to skim through blogs in order to read them all.

As you know I'm here very often reading and commenting. Thank you for your comments on my blog as well. Have a great day. Carla (aka Jill of All Trades-hehehe)

I am with you. I love comments. I remember the first time you left me a comment. I think it's been almost a year!

I've went from trying to explain how I got to read your blog to saying "My friend Kim says..."

Hopefully, one day, I'll become half the writer you are!!!

Hey Kim. I just love your blog. I came over in December 07 from Mamalogues...Before I even had my own blog. I've commented a few times, but definitely do read everday. Your an inspiration to many!

I've found that the comments on my blog have decreased as the traffic INCREASED. I think that basically means more people read it through a reader of some sorts and don't comments because it takes longer.

Also, I've been SO behind on reading lately. Probably the only reason I'm trying to catch up now is 'cause I'm home trying to get over a cold.

Oh, and despite the fact that after 18 months, I still don't know why I blog...I love comments, too! We all have a little Sally Field in us.

Hi Kim,

Just wanted to note that I read or check your blog everyday for something new. I love your strength and your writing. I don't comment very often because most of the time I'm at work and I can only sneak a peak. I have appreciated when your have sent a reply e-mail. Nice to know that your being noticed! Good luck!

my email is stlceltic@yahoo.com. I enjoy reading your blog. Suprise I have not run into you yet since we work in the same building but it is a big place.

I read your blog all the time. I feel like I know you although we've never met. I try to comment whenever I can. I save all my comments in an e-mail folder too. It's funny that those few words mean so much to us as bloggers. I guess it's just nice to know that somebody out there actually reads this stuff!

Keep it up!

I read your blog all the time, I have not been a very good blogger lately, not enough time in the day!

I read your blog all the time, I'm however terrible about commenting here or on any other blog. I love your funny stories and touching stories. Keep writing.

Kim, I read you all the time and I do so appreciate your kind comments on my blog. Like you I also save down all my comments in a folder.

I'll try to stay off the subject of food for a while so you can shed the weight you gained reading the past few days. Tee Hee.

Where should I go next?

She Who said...

I will go to Italy, soon. I just won't be going there until the Spring or Summer. My Step-mother-in-law's sister has a villa on the coast and we will be having a family reunion there.

Besides you said that I can't post foodie stuff right now.

I may or may not listen to you. But we do follow Lent so I am supposed to be in a reflection mode.

Actually I am in a Spring Fever mode.

Such inner conflicts.

Oh, you know I have to throw in my 2 cents worth! I always read your blog, of course, but I get behind on commenting sometimes. You are great to comment on mine, so I appreciate the favor and will try to keep up commenting on yours! I've actually updated my blog (shocking I know) so you can go check it out. I'm trying to do better about blogging. You always have new, exciting entries and I am just a slacker so my blog stinks most of the time. Oh well, just wanted to stop by and say howdy!

I stumbled upon your blog today and next thing you know I had yet another excuse to waste time and not get any work done!: ) I agree so much about the comment thing. I am constantly telling my friends how much it means to me when they comment after reading the blogs. The other day one said "isn't it enough that you know I read it?" and I found it hard to explain that feeling you get when you open your mail and see that someone left the comment! Almost make it all see more worth while.
